Our Purpose

The key purpose of VConnect Foundation is to get parents together on a common platform to help guide and assist each other for the benefit and progress of the children.

Very often parents are not aware of some basic and fundamental aspects related to hearing impairment
While the infrastructure for hearing equipment and habilitation does exist more attention needs to be given to the overall mental, physical and psychological development of the child
Parents are in need of emotional support and guidance especially in certain social strata where physically challenge children and their parents (mostly the mother) are not favourably looked upon.
Once parents feel confident and empowered they are in the best position to help themselves overcoming issues related to the up bringing of their children who are aurally challenged. While expertise and specialised advice are available with many centres, organizations & NGOs, an integrated approach to the overall development of the child and attendant problems and issues is best provided by a parent support group.

We have identified certain critical areas which will be of immediate benefit to our parent members:

Information on hearing equipment available such as; the different types & brands of Cochlear Implants, hearing aids and FM systems
Workshops on Behaviour management, parenting, child psychology, etc of children with hearing impairment conducted by experts.
Technical sessions on Intervention, Habilitation, the management and trouble shooting of Cochlear Implant, Hearing Aids and FM Systems
Experience sharing sessions to address problems and work on solutions as a group.
To identify role models and empower parents to take ownership of the overall development and integration of their children into mainstream society.
